About Jewel India
ewellery has been the lifeblood of our family for five generations. Late Prem Das Gupta opened the first family jewellery shop in Cossipore area Central Avenue North Calcutta 1893. The master jeweller soon established the Laxmi Abhushan Bhandar a retail counter for customers in the area where we were the first to have a counter with his little gold and silver stock. The counter fast grew popular with illustrious clients who visited during the auspicious wedding season. In his spare time Mr. Gupta started deals with the leading wholesellers in Calcutta Mumbai and Delhi.\r\n<p>With growing customers and popularity of the shop Mr. Gupta kept on adding jewellery stock of fine craftsmanship. Soon his son Mr.Sushil Kumar Gupta took the responsibility of the shop at an early age of 20 years.
